My Story And Why Your Story Means So Much To Me

My First Steps

By Kristin Herold

Ironically, these statements became powerful driving forces, slowly and unexpectedly intertwined to define my life, a beautiful evolution. And so we begin.

When I was a very little girl in Ohio, I wanted to be a pilot; we traveled a lot as a family, and I thought those pinned wings were awesome. Wings! But there was already a hidden passion rising. Apparently, it lingered.

One day, when I was an undergrad at Ohio State, I ran into my favorite elementary school teacher, Mr. Wilson. He reminded me: “Remember when we did Shakespeare week in 6th grade, you stood up and you said, ‘I want to be an actress!!’” I smiled. Shakespeare? An early truth.

Funny enough, that was what I had already become. I was part of a cast of 20-something kids on the first internet soap called The Spot. We were getting national attention and bringing knowledge of the “internet” and “email” to the world.

I loved the entertainment industry, I loved movies and television, I loved getting lost and going into another place, another time. Acting required me to climb into the souls of the characters I was to portray. I had to understand them from the inside. I had to be them.

The entire process — from development to production, mixing and blending cast and crew to present a compelling whole — also began to fascinate me. Making people work together towards a common, often complex goal.

I morphed into an entertainment journalist and met some of my favorite actors, directors, and fellow journalists. It was never a dull moment. Every event was exciting, every minute could bring the unexpected. I loved it!

I was lucky enough to get to the point that I had covered every event, met everyone, and I was ready for my next chapter. I had been watching people doing… but I wanted more. I wanted to find a parallel process where I could make something much bigger than myself happen.

It had to involve understanding people in a big way. What could I possibly do that could match the exciting, unexpected, heart-thumping excitement of being in the middle of my beloved entertainment industry?

I did not want to be a producer or a director, but I wanted to use my skills to help people achieve big goals.

Cut To:

Real Estate Agent!!!! It’s my best role to date.

This industry has brought me the same excitement, drama, laughs, tears, ups, downs, never-a-dull cinematic life that I love, live and thrive for.

The difference is, the people I meet are real, not characters. Their life is their script, and their home is their stage. The feelings and emotions attached to that stage can be volatile and deserve respect.

Real estate is not a transaction to me. My job is a gift and an honor. I am lucky to be given the chance to help another person and make a connection.

Our homes represent our hearts and our souls — a place of respite and relaxation. I know that selling a home can mean you are saying goodbye to a painful chapter, and buying a home means another chapter, be it exciting or scary.

Unexpected feelings and emotions will inevitably come up. For those who really can choose, a home is a combination: a reflection of achievement, a deep cushion of personal comfort, an alluring and compelling expression of personal wants and qualities. And often family.

Luxury. Lust. Location.
I take great pride that I get to make a difference in people’s lives and my job is to help people make easier life transitions when needing to buy or sell.

It’s my honor to be invited into your life and your home. I genuinely love that I get to help my clients in their story.
